Page builder, AI builder or hand-coded WordPress?
All three can put a business online. They differ in how fast the page opens on a phone, in whether Google and AI assistants can read it, and in how much code the browser has to download. We measured all three ourselves in 2026, and every figure below comes from our own tests.
The page builder figures come from Elementor with default settings on a clean WordPress install (mobile Lighthouse, July 2026). The AI builder figures come from 92 live business sites built with Lovable and Base44 (text check, October 2026), and the speed figures are the median of 12 of them (mobile Lighthouse, 25 Oct 2026). The hand-coded figures come from flashpsystems.com (mobile Lighthouse, 25 Oct 2026).
